Law Scholarships and Grants
The Law School offers many merit and need-based scholarship and grant opportunities to students.
Scholarship recipients may also apply for Federal Financial Aid through the Law School Financial Aid Office. Federal regulations and university policy require the Law School Financial Aid Office to consider scholarships as a financial resource in determining financial need. A scholarship award may reduce any loan eligibility you may have, thereby reducing your loan indebtedness.
Wayne Law Scholarships
Scholarships and fellowships specifically for law school students are described on our Internal Scholarships Web page. New students are considered for scholarship awards at admission and a separate applicaiton is not required. In addition, the Law School Dean of Students Office provides scholarship information at an Annual Informational Scholarship Fair in the Fall semester.
Scholarships at WSU
Scholarship information for all students is available on the University Scholarships Web site, including information on awards offered by other WSU departments.
LLM Students
Students in the Master of Laws (LLM) program may also apply for scholarships through the Graduate School. Information can be found on the WSU Graduate School Web page.
Public Interest Law Fellowships
Fellowships are awarded to current Wayne Law students who will hold public interest jobs during the summer. Ten law students received awards during the summer of 2009.
Other Scholarship Opportunities for Law Students
Wayne Law students often qualify for merit awards from external organizations. Other resources include veteran education benefits, American Indian tuition waivers, the No Worker Left Behind program, and AmeriCorps.
